  11. I tried the brand-new VICE emulator.  Alas, the window it gives me remains
  12. blank white.  The C64 code runs -- correctly as far as I can tell with the
  13. debugger -- and if debug modes are turned on, I can see that an 8x8 pixel
  14. area is updated at the cursor flash rate... but the window remains blank.

  16. I know nothing about X-Windows.  The Sun Sparc10 with SunOS 4.1.3 and 
  17. OpenWindows 3.0 has a non-standard X setup and a non-ANSI C compiler, but
  18. a bit of hacking and slashing of Makefiles, and the GCC compiler, usually
  19. get things to compile and link and then they work OK.  The old X64 does.
  20. Anyone have an idea what magic button I may have pressed, or failed to
  21. press, to cause this not to work?

  23. MITSHM mode on and off makes no difference.
